What is Profhilo?

Profhilo® is an injectable treatment containing high concentrations of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance that plays a key role in skin hydration and elasticity. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that add volume, Profhilo stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins that provide structural support to the skin.

How Does the Treatment Work?

Profhilo is a unique injectable treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid on the market. However, unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo is not designed to add volume or fill lines. Instead, it acts as a powerful bioremodelling agent, triggering the production of new collagen and elastin.

When injected into the skin, Profhilo slowly releases its hyaluronic acid over several weeks, gradually improving the skin’s overall quality, texture, and hydration levels from within. This bioremodelling process helps to tighten and firm the skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The Benefits of Profhilo Treatment

● Natural-Looking Results: Profhilo delivers subtle improvements, enhancing your natural beauty without creating an overfilled appearance.

● Long-Lasting Effects: Compared to some injectable treatments, Profhilo boasts extended results, typically lasting 6-9 months.

● Bioremodeling Benefits: Profhilo goes beyond hydration, promoting collagen and elastin production for long-term skin improvement.

● Minimally Invasive Procedure: Profhilo uses a fine needle, minimising discomfort and downtime.

● Versatility: Profhilo can be used on various areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, hands, and arms.

Who Can Benefit from Profhilo Treatment?

Profhilo is ideal for those looking to address overall skin ageing concerns, rather than targeting specific lines or folds. Profhilo is suitable for both men and women and can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, and even the back of the hands.

● Improve skin hydration: Profhilo deeply hydrates the skin, leading to a plumper, smoother appearance.

● Reduce fine lines and wrinkles: By stimulating collagen production, Profhilo helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly on the face and neck.

● Enhance skin elasticity: Profhilo promotes elastin production, resulting in firmer, more youthful-looking skin.

● Address concerns like crepey skin: Profhilo effectively targets laxity and crepey skin texture, particularly in areas like the neck.

● Achieve a natural-looking rejuvenation: Profhilo offers subtle yet noticeable improvements, enhancing your natural beauty without appearing overdone.

When Will I See Results from Profhilo?

Considering the treatment, you might wonder how long for Profhilo to work. Profhilo results are long-lasting and continue to improve over time as the skin’s quality is enhanced. Most patients report seeing initial improvements within 2-4 weeks, with full effects becoming visible around 8-12 weeks after the initial treatment. The results of Profhilo typically last 6-9 months, after which maintenance treatments can be performed to sustain the rejuvenated appearance.

Will Profhilo work for my skin type?

L
K

We start losing a significant amount of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid after we reach 25, and it is at this age that we start to consider preventative treatments. This is the time when many people would consider their first anti-wrinkle injections as the first lines start to appear. If you feel your facial tissue quality has dropped significantly, and that you may look older for your age, but are not ready for dermal fillers yet, Profhilo may be the best treatment for you.

How do I know if I qualify for the treatment?

L
K

You can get this treatment at any age – it is the ultimate luxury preventative treatment. All of our clinic team members love having this treatment themselves and have done since their early thirties! However, you will notice more of a difference in your skin if you have some skin laxity present.

What does Profhilo treatment involve?

L
K

Profhilo is injected just below the skin’s surface over 2 sessions 4 weeks apart. After injection, it disperses quickly beneath the skin to improve hydration, without any need for massage or the risk of leaving lumps or nodules. Profhilo is absorbed within a 2cm radius of its injection site, so to treat the face only 10 injection points are needed in total.

A single course of Profhilo involves 2 injectable treatments, after which you can expect to see intense hydration. It makes the skin glow, fine lines can disappear and you’ll notice smoother tighter skin. Courses of two treatments can be repeated every six months as needed to maintain the results.

Is Profhilo a Dermal Filler?

L
K

No, it is not a Dermal filler – the only similarity is that they are both hyaluronic acid gels, but the gels are completely different. Profhilo perfuses the skin, and Dermal Filler replaces deep subcutaneous fat and enhances bone structure. Profhilo cannot change contours or facial shape or provide enhancement, it cannot be used to directly target fine lines. Profhilo is solely used to trigger a skin remodelling increasing skin quality and luminance.

Could I get Profhilo to target lines on my forehead or around my eyes?
